Cameron Smith is an Australian professional golfer who was born on August 18, 1993, in Brisbane, Queensland. He began playing golf at the age of 8, and by the time he was 16, he had won his first professional tournament, the Queensland Amateur Stroke Play Championship.
Smith turned pro in 2013 and began his professional career on the PGA Tour of Australasia. In 2014, he won the Australian Amateur Championship and earned his PGA Tour of Australasia card for the 2014-15 season. Smith also played on the Web.com Tour in the United States in 2014 and 2015.
Smith’s breakthrough came at the 2015 US Open, where he finished tied for fourth place, becoming the first Australian to do so since Steve Elkington in 1995.
