Jordy Smith is a professional surfer from South Africa. Born on February 11, 1988, in Durban, South Africa, Smith started surfing at a young age and quickly made a name for himself in the surfing world. He won his first national championship at the age of 13 and went on to win multiple titles throughout his career.

Smith joined the World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour in 2008 and quickly became a dominant force in the sport. He has won multiple events on the tour, including the Billabong Pro J-Bay in 2010 and 2011, the Rip Curl Pro Portugal in 2016, and the Vans World Cup of Surfing in 2017.

In addition to his success on the Championship Tour, Smith has also made a name for himself in big-wave surfing. He won the Mavericks Invitational in 2018 and has been featured in numerous big-wave surfing films.

Off the water, Smith is known for his charitable work, including his support of the Surfrider Foundation and the Shark Spotters program in South Africa. He is also an avid golfer and has competed in several celebrity tournaments.

Smith is married to South African model Lyndall Jarvis and the couple has two children together.
